We work with paintable wallpaper types from Intervos. They are painted after hanging, so you choose the colour separately from the wallpaper. The difference lies in the texture and in how much wear the wall will take.

Having renovation fleece applied is the most popular route. The fleece hides small irregularities and hairline cracks, and once painted you have a crisp wall without the drying time of wet plaster.
The wallpaper comes from Intervos, a supplier based in Steenwijk. According to the Intervos price list of 1 August 2026, their renovation fleece ranges from 130 to 200 grams per m², on rolls of 25 or 50 metres at 1 metre wide. The woven glass fabric from the Quality Glass collection weighs 115 to 200 grams per m².
A heavier fleece covers more, but it also needs more adhesive and a steadier hand at the seams. Which weight suits your wall is something we discuss during the site survey, together with the choice between 150 or 200 gram renovation fleece.
We spot cheap wallpaper or cheap paint straight away: first in the coverage, within a few years in the discolouration. With good materials, walls in our experience stay crisp for about 10 years. That is why we work with Intervos wallpaper and Sigma paint.
We paint with Sigma wall paint. For Sigmatex Superlatex Matt, Sigma states scrub resistance class 1 according to EN 13300, a coverage of 8 to 10 m² per litre and a gloss level of about 1.9 GU. That matt finish matters: the less light the paint reflects, the fewer seams and small irregularities you see when daylight falls across the wall at an angle.
What does wallpapering cost per m²?
Wallpapering with us costs from €14.99 per m² for renovation fleece, including sanding, hanging, filling and one coat of paint in RAL 9010 or 9016. The bigger the job, the lower the price per m².

A worked example for a complete home
Take a family home with 180 m² of wall surface that is fully covered in renovation fleece. That falls in the over 150 m² bracket, so 180 × €14.99 = €2,698.20 for hanging, filling, materials and one coat of paint.
If several neighbours in the same street have their homes finished at the same time, the neighbour discount per m² is deducted: €0.25 for 2 homes, €0.50 for 3, €0.60 for 4, €0.80 for 5 and €1.00 for 6 or more.
With four participating homes that becomes 180 × €14.39 = €2,590.20. So it pays to ask your neighbours: having the work done together saves everyone money per m².
What does it cost if old wallpaper has to come off first?
Old wallpaper usually has to come off, because the moisture in the adhesive can make the old layer come loose. Removing one layer of unpainted paper wallpaper costs €6.99 per m², vinyl wallpaper €9.74 and painted wallpaper €9.75 per m². Removing renovation fleece and fibreglass wallpaper costs €10.99 per m², and every extra layer adds €1.00 per m².
Our tradespeople remove 100 m² per day on average, and having old wallpaper removed is included in the same schedule. You can work out your square metres with the m² calculator, and all the variants are on our prices page.

We hang, fill and paint a complete home in renovation fleece in 3 days. This is what such a week looks like inside, for a home that needs no thin plaster coat beforehand.
When
What happens
What you notice
Day 1, morning
Covering floors and window frames, sanding the walls and removing dust, priming where the substrate calls for it
Nothing is hung yet; this determines how the wall will look
Day 1, afternoon
The pasting table comes in, the first strips go on the wall, seams are cut cleanly straight away
The first room is wallpapered by the end of the day
Day 2
The rest of the home is wallpapered and the edges at window frames, corners and skirting boards are filled
All walls are covered, but not yet painted
Day 3
One coat of Sigma wall paint in RAL 9010 or 9016, then we go over the walls together
The home is finished and the rooms can be used again the same day
Is renovation fleece a stopgap for a poor wall? No. Renovation fleece is the right finish for a wall that is still moving: a new-build home settles and shrinks in the first years, hard plaster cracks with it, and renovation fleece bridges those small shrinkage cracks. Such shrinkage cracks in new builds are usually perfectly normal.
Even so, wallpapering is not always the answer. In these four situations we will tell you so.
You want a mirror-smooth wall with no texture at all. Up close, a fine texture remains visible in any fleece. If you do not want that, you are better off having your walls plastered ready for painting.
The wall is crooked or very uneven. Wallpaper follows the wall, it does not make it straight. In that case a thin plaster coat goes on first, or a thicker layer of plaster.
It is a wet area. In a shower area wallpaper is not the right finish. Outside the wet zone, wallpaper in the bathroom or kitchen is possible; we look at each wall to see what suits.
You want a different colour within a year. Then painting a smooth, paint-ready wall is cheaper than wallpapering. If you are torn between plaster or renovation fleece, give us a call.
We do not wallpaper doors and cupboards. For everything that is possible, we look at the wall first: that saves work afterwards that you would rather not have paid for.
What happens when you have your home wallpapered?
Having your home wallpapered by Bouwsector België means one of our 40 in-house wallpaper hangers does the work, not a subcontractor: people like Kai and Illias, who have been hanging wallpaper with us for 5 years. They are part of a team of 97 in-house tradespeople, including 32 plasterers and 25 painters.
If a thin plaster coat has to go on first or the window frames are painted afterwards, we plan that ourselves in the right order.
In a free phone consultation we go through the rooms: which walls, which type of wallpaper and whether old wallpaper has to come off first. Within 24 hours your free quote is ready, with the price per m² for each wallpaper type.
If you agree, we come by for a site survey: we take measurements and check that the walls are really ready for wallpaper, so that the final price is right. After the site survey and wall inspection you know exactly where you stand.
So you get an honest price quickly. If it is a big project, we are also happy to come and meet you first. During the site survey we check the walls, so that no extra work shows up on the invoice afterwards.
At handover we go through the walls with you, and the wallpapering work carries a 1 year guarantee. If it is just one room or one wall, you can simply hire a wallpaper hanger. From first conversation to handover: this is how it works with us.
We are active throughout Belgium: Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. We also carry out the site survey at your home anywhere in the country. During the job a project manager is your point of contact on site; for calls or emails you deal directly with our office.
We usually advise against it. The moisture in the new adhesive can soak the old layer loose, and then it takes the new wallpaper with it. During the site survey we assess whether the old wallpaper is firmly enough attached or has to be removed first.
Do I need to empty the rooms before the wallpaper hanger arrives?
Ideally you move large furniture out of the room yourself or push it to the middle. Paintings, shelves and curtain rails come off the wall. What else we cover and mask off ourselves, we go through with you at the site survey.
Can you have just one room or one wall wallpapered?
Yes. The m² prices in the price list start for jobs from 30 m². For a small job without materials, the price list gives a day rate of €449.99 for a wallpaper hanger. Prices exclude VAT.
What do wallpapering and painting cost together?
With renovation fleece, one coat of paint in RAL 9010 or 9016 is already included in the m² price: €14.99 to €18.99 per m², depending on the surface area. Glass fleece and woven glass fabric cost €16.99 to €20.99 per m², also including one coat of paint. Prices exclude VAT; for homes over 10 years old that is usually 6% VAT.
Can you wallpaper in winter, or is it too cold?
Indoors it can be done all year round, as long as the room is heated and ventilated. For its fleece adhesive, Intervos states that it must not be applied below 5 °C or above 70 per cent humidity. In an empty new-build home we therefore switch on the heating if necessary.
