Having a kitchen installed in Belgium usually costs between €1,000 and €2,500 for fitting a standard kitchen, or around €250 per linear metre. The fitting itself takes 1 to 3 working days; removing the old kitchen, the plumbing and the electrics often come on top.
At Bouwsector België, our own contractor teams install the kitchen and do the work around it, from taking out the old kitchen to the connections. You will hear your exact price after a free consultation. We plaster or paint the walls around the kitchen at the fixed prices in our price list.

Fitting is only part of the bill. What the installation really costs depends on what changes around the kitchen: does it go back in the same place, or move to a different wall?

The kitchen itself is not included in these amounts. Units, worktop and appliances differ too much from one kitchen to the next for a single figure.
What determines the installation price?
Five things make the difference when a kitchen is installed:
The layout. A straight or corner kitchen is installed faster than one with an island or a lot of bespoke work.
The location. If the kitchen stays where it was, the water, drainage and power can often stay too. If you move the kitchen, they have to move with it.
The appliances. An induction hob often needs its own circuit in the meter cupboard or fuse box.
What you arrange yourself. If you have already bought the kitchen from a kitchen showroom, our contractor teams can install it and do the work around it.
The walls and the floor. If the walls around the kitchen still need plastering or painting, or a new floor is going in, that belongs in the same schedule.
The prices for the walls are fixed. Plastering walls ready for painting costs €22.99 per m² with us, materials included. Having walls painted costs €18.99 per m² with primer and 1 coat in RAL 9010 or 9016, excluding VAT.
In what order do you install a kitchen?
Whatever disappears behind the units later comes first. We prefer to finish the walls before the kitchen goes in, because working along an empty wall is faster and neater.

The floor up to or under the kitchen, then the skirting boards
Skirting boards join up with the floor
The wall behind the sink and the hob takes the most punishment: heat, grease and water all at once. It needs a hard, washable splashback. On the other walls, wallpaper in the kitchen works perfectly well, as long as you can wipe the wall down.
Whether the floor runs under the kitchen depends on the floor. A floating floor, such as laminate or click vinyl, needs room to move and therefore stops against the units; heavy units placed on top would pin it down. A glued vinyl floor or a poured floor can run under the kitchen.
We follow the same order when finishing a new-build home: ceiling, walls, woodwork, floor and skirting boards.
Can the kitchen shop not simply install it themselves?
They can, and for a kitchen that goes back in the same place that is often perfectly fine. It gets harder when more is happening: a wall coming out, pipes being rerouted, a new circuit, plasterwork and a new floor.
Then, besides the fitter, you need a plumber, an electrician, a plasterer and a floor fitter, and you are the one making sure they arrive in the right order. A kitchen that is ready and waiting while the pipes are not yet in costs you days.
With us, one party handles the whole job. That also saves money on the finishing. If you only have 25 m² of kitchen wall primed and painted afterwards, it costs €474.75, plus a €249.99 small-job surcharge and €99.99 call-out fee: €824.73.
If the kitchen and the living room go together, with 70 m² of wall, you pay €1,329.30 plus the €99.99 call-out fee: €1,429.29. For almost three times as much wall, you pay less than twice as much.
Request a quote or call us on working days between 9:00 and 17:00. Tell us where the kitchen is going, whether it stays in the same place and when it will be delivered. In a free consultation we discuss what needs to happen, and then you receive a plan and a tailored quote.
If you agree, we take measurements and check the walls. The final price and schedule are then fixed, and we start on the day we agree together. You pay 50% on the first working day, once all materials are on site and we have started, and 50% on completion.
The installation and the structural work are done by our four in-house contractor teams of four people each. The walls are finished by our 97 in-house tradespeople: 40 wallpaperers, 32 plasterers and 25 painters. We are also currently renovating 150 shops.
If you also want to have your bathroom renovated, we include it in the same schedule. For the whole home, we take on the complete renovation as contractor, with a single point of contact. We work throughout Belgium: Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia.
Want to know what installing your kitchen costs, with everything around it?
How much does it cost to have a kitchen installed?
Fitting a standard kitchen costs on average between €1,000 and €2,500 in Belgium, or around €250 per linear metre. Removing the old kitchen, rerouting pipes and an extra circuit often come on top. You will hear your exact price after the free consultation, in a tailored quote.
How long does it take to install a kitchen?
The fitting itself usually takes 1 to 3 working days. An island or a lot of bespoke work can add a day. If the old kitchen, the pipes and the walls also have to be done, the whole schedule is in your quote.
Do you lay the floor first or install the kitchen first?
That depends on the floor. A floating floor, such as laminate or click vinyl, usually goes in after the kitchen and up against the units, because it needs room to move. A glued vinyl floor or a poured floor can go in first and run under the kitchen. In both cases we finish the walls before the kitchen goes in.
Can you install a kitchen that I bought myself?
Yes. Our contractor teams install the kitchen and do the work around it, such as removing the old kitchen, the plumbing and the walls. When you apply, tell us where the kitchen comes from and when it will be delivered.
Does the wall behind the kitchen need plastering first?
Preferably yes, because an empty wall is faster and neater to finish. The wall needs to be smooth above the worktop and beside the units in particular. Plastering walls ready for painting costs €22.99 per m² with us, materials included and excluding VAT.
