Who is Bouwsector België?
We are a contracting company specialising in wall finishing. Our tradespeople get bare or old walls and ceilings ready for decorating: from skim coat and paint-ready plaster to renovation fleece, glass fleece and paintwork, as well as painting window frames, doors, skirting boards and staircases indoors.

We do this work in two situations. In new builds, where we help buyers get a move-in-ready home between collecting the keys and moving in. And in renovations, where old wallpaper, textured spachtelputz plaster or damaged plasterwork first has to be removed or levelled. For us, finishing a new-build home and wall finishing during a renovation are the same trade, just with a different starting point.
Bouwsector België grew out of a question we kept hearing: private customers and businesses often don’t know who to hire. Who can you trust, who delivers quality work, and how do you know you aren’t overpaying?
The answer was a single group of wallpaper hangers, plasterers and painters who deliver quality, use the right materials and keep their promises. As a result, many of our tradespeople have worked together for 5 to 15 years, some of them at other companies before Bouwsector België existed.
New-build projects are supervised by director Geert Jan Hendrik, who has worked in construction for 20 years. He also checks the texts on this site, on prices, materials and working methods. What you read here therefore matches how our tradespeople actually do the work.
Why do we use our own tradespeople instead of subcontractors?
Because then you know who is coming and what you will get. Our tradespeople are on permanent contracts, follow the same working method and are scheduled by our own project managers. There is no middleman between you and the tradesperson.
That brings three practical benefits. The same team carries out your job from start to finish. The schedule is in our own hands, so the plasterer, wallpaper hanger and painter follow on from each other without waiting time. And you have one point of contact and one party responsible for the whole result.
Only on very large projects with dozens of homes at once, or when someone is ill, do we bring in another company, always one we have worked with for many years. That happens at most once or twice a year. When we are very busy, this is sometimes the team of Behangservice Nederland, a separate company and not part of Bouwsector België. Even then, we vouch for and guarantee the quality.
“The most expensive thing we see is people choosing the cheapest party,” says Geert. “They spend a fortune on furnishings and kitchens, but forget the walls and ceilings. Yet those are the first things you see when you walk in. Such a shame.” People who end up disappointed often call us afterwards to have everything redone.
We are also upfront about what we deliberately don’t do: we don’t wallpaper doors or cupboards, we don’t do Venetian or decorative plasterwork, and we don’t paint PVC window frames.

A few of the faces behind the work. Kai and Illias are wallpaper hangers and have been with us for 5 years. Argi and Chris are painters, for 6 years now. Bram is a plasterer and has worked at Bouwsector België for 7 years. You can see them in the photos on this site.
Alongside the tradespeople on site, there is an office team. You call or email us directly, and a project manager supervises the job on site. We are proudest of this combination of office and site staff: it keeps the risk of miscommunication low, and you can see that in our reviews.
Once you accept the quote, for a new-build home we come round for a site survey. We check whether what the builder tells you is correct, whether the walls are ready for wallpapering, how the ceilings have been finished and what condition the doors and frames are in. We go through what we see with you. After that, the final price and schedule are fixed.

Which materials do we use?
For wallpaper we use Intervos, for paint Sigma. By always working with the same products, our tradespeople know how they apply and what result they give. They know exactly how Intervos renovation fleece and Sigma paint behave on the wall.
This is how we work in all three trades: renovation fleece and other wallpaper, plasterwork and skim coat, and interior wall painting and paintwork.
Where do we work?
We are active throughout Belgium: Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia.
We also carry out the site survey at your home anywhere in the country.
