Our own tradespeople do the work

Bouwsector België works with 97 in-house tradespeople: 40 wallpaper hangers, 32 plasterers and 25 painters, available throughout Belgium. They always carry out the wallpapering, plastering and painting themselves, never subcontracted: people like Kai and Illias for wallpapering, Bram for plasterwork and Argi and Chris for painting. Many of our tradespeople have worked together for 5 to 15 years. That gives you one point of contact, from the first conversation to handover.

Renovating a whole home? We do it all

For a renovation we take on the entire job as main contractor, inside and out. Four in-house contractor teams and our own electricians do this, alongside our 97 in-house tradespeople for wallpapering, plastering and painting.

What does wallpapering, plastering or painting cost per m²?

You pay a fixed price per m², with every item listed separately in the quote. These are the most requested rates.

Prices exclude VAT. For renovation of a home over 10 years old this is usually 6% VAT, otherwise 21%.

With renovation fleece the price per m² falls as the job gets bigger: €18.99 up to 100 m², €15.99 up to 150 m² and €14.99 above that. Fixed items, such as the one-off call-out fee of €99.99, are listed with all other rates in the full price list. New build

Why do walls crack in a new-build home?

A new home is still moving. That is why we choose the finish that can cope with that movement.

The home settles and shrinks

Construction moisture evaporates and the structure settles. As a result the walls still move after handover.

Plasterwork cracks along

Traditional plasterwork is hard and does not follow that movement. The cracks then come through in your finish.

Renovation fleece bridges

Renovation fleece wallpaper bridges and hides those cracks. Once painted, the wall looks smooth.

Skim coat as a base

A skim coat makes the wall flat. It is the repair base on which the renovation fleece is applied.

Shrinkage cracks in a new build are therefore normal, and that is exactly why renovation fleece is the most popular choice for new builds. We work with Intervos renovation fleece and Sigma paint.

Site survey once you agree

If you agree, we take measurements and inspect the walls.

Execution

Our own tradespeople do the work. Wallpapering a complete home takes 3 days.

Handover

We walk through the work together. You pay 50% on the first working day, once all materials are on site and we have started, and 50% at handover.

At Bouwsector België, renovation fleece wallpapering costs from €14.99 per m², including pasting, caulking and painting. Plastering walls ready for painting costs €22.99 per m², materials included, and painting walls costs from €12.99 per m². These are the prices from our 2026/2027 price list, valid from 1 September 2026 and excluding VAT. For renovation of a home over 10 years old this is usually 6% VAT, otherwise 21%.

Do you come and look before I get a price?

No. Within 24 hours you receive a free quote, based on a price indication with a fixed price per m². If you agree, we come round to measure up and inspect the walls. For a big job we are also glad to meet you earlier.

Yes. We work throughout Belgium, in Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. We also carry out the site survey at your home anywhere in the country.

Why do you recommend renovation fleece for a new-build home?

A new-build home is still settling and shrinking, and traditional plasterwork cracks along with it. Renovation fleece wallpaper bridges and hides those shrinkage cracks. If the wall is not flat enough, we first apply a skim coat as a base. Wallpapering a complete home takes 3 days, plus the drying time of the skim coat if that is needed.
