A quote within 24 hours, and we bring everything down
We usually charge for an attic by the hour, because the amount varies enormously: from a few boxes to twenty years of belongings. What mainly determines the price is the stairs. Through a fixed staircase it goes faster than through a narrow loft ladder.

What turns up in an attic?
Attics often hold things nobody has seen for years: boxes of papers, photos, old clothes and furniture. So go through the attic yourself first, or have the family do it, and set aside what you want to keep.
In older attics we also often see insulation that has come loose, or old boards against the roof boarding.
If the property is not recently built, it may contain asbestos, for example in old floor tiles, ceiling panels or around the boiler. Asbestos may only be removed by a certified asbestos removal company. We do not do that; if we see anything that looks like asbestos, we leave it in place and report it to you.
How does clearing an attic work?
Request a quote. Tell us how full the attic is and what the access is like: a fixed staircase or a loft ladder. Feel free to send a few photos.
Set aside what stays. What you want to keep, you set aside beforehand or mark with a note.
Clearing. On the agreed day we bring everything down. We cover the stairs and landing.
Removal and broom-clean. We take away what has to go and sweep the attic clean.
Can’t you just clear an attic yourself?
A few boxes, yes. But a full attic means dozens of trips up and down the stairs, with items heavier than you think, such as old cupboards, mattresses and books. On a loft ladder it is also simply unsafe.
We do it with a team, in one go, and we take care of the removal.
From €40 per hour with us, plus removal from €165 and a one-off €99.99 call-out fee. How long it takes depends on how full the attic is and whether there is a fixed staircase or a loft ladder. Prices exclude VAT.
Can you clear an attic through a loft ladder?
Yes. It does take more time than via a fixed staircase, and you will see that in the quote.
Do you leave the attic clean?
Yes, we sweep the attic broom-clean after we have brought everything down and taken it away.
Can you also finish the attic afterwards?
Yes. Our own plasterers and painters finish sloped walls and ceilings, and one of our own building teams does a loft conversion.
